JOSPHAT KIMWERE KAMAU (MAU MAU VETERAN)

It with great sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Josphat Kimwere Kamau (Mau Mau Veteran), at the age of 110 Years, on Wednesday 13th January, 2021.

He hailed from Gathukiine Sub-location, Muranga County. Son oldie late Kamau and Wanjiku.

Husband of the late Virginia Muthoni. Brother of the late Esther Kirigo Mathiriu.

Father of Emily Wanjiku Gathungu, Josephine Wairimu Magari, Beatrice Kirigo Waithaka, George Kamau, Peter Mwangi, John Maina, Mary Piah Gitachu, Monica Wanjiku and Jennifer Kirigo.

Father-in-law of the late Pharis M. Kiige Gathungu, Joseph Magari, John Waithaka, Wanjiru Kamau, Purity Wambui Mwangi, Beatrice Njeri Maina and the late Stephen Gitachu.

Grandfather of Fred Gathungu, Josphat Kimwere, Joseph Kiige,Anthony Mbui, Julius Kimwere, Charles Ciuri, Nicholas Kamau, Patricia Gathoni, Nicoleta Nyambura, Martin Kagu, Virginia Muthoni, Patrick J. Komu, Kimwere Kamau, Ndungi Kamau, Felister Muthoni, Joseph Kimwere, Gad Mbogo, Elizabeth Muthoni, Mary Waithira, Irene Wanjiku, Alfred Kamwere, Bernard Mwatha, Arnold Kamau, Ann Wambui and Leonard Mbugua. He has left behind many great-grandchildren.

Meetings and Prayers are taking place at his Gatare home, every evening at 5.00pm.

The cortege will leave Kiria-ini Catholic Mission Hospital Mortuary, on Saturday 23rd January, 2021 at 7.00am for the burial ceremony at his Gatare home in Gaturi Location, Murang’a County, next to Gathukiini Primary School.

God rest his soul in eternal peace.
