JONAH WATUKA MBONDO
It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Jonah Watuka Mbondo (Principal Kiundwani Secondary School, Mwala Sub-County and the former Principal at Kivani Secondary School) of Muumandu, Machakos County, which occurred on Monday, 8th March 2021 after a short illness.
He was the loving and caring husband to Margaret Kalondu Watuka (Muumandu Primary School), loving father to Cynthia Watuka (Machakos County Assembly), Karthy Watuka (ICRC) and Alex Watuka (Lawyer). He was the last born son to the late Mbondo Kiatine and the late Mary Mutave Mbondo. He was a doting grandfather to Rowena Mutua and the Father-in-Law to Raphael Mutua. Brother to the late Esther Mbuka, the late Mulinge Mbondo, Sileti Mbondo, Mutio Makusa, Mutiso Mbondo, the late Musau Mbondo, the late Muli Mbondo, Ndunge Kyule, the late Kalondu Mendeni, the late Maingi Mbondo, Nthiwa Mbondo, the late Ndeto Mbondo, Wania Kamuya, Florence Mbai, Ndambuki Mbondo, Kamota Mbondo and Kioko Mbondo.
Son in law to the late Mukanda Muthungu and the late Lucia Mukanda. Brother in law to Julius Muthungu, Veronicah Kathike, Thomas Katomu, the Late David Mutua, Peter Mutuku, Augustine Mutinda, Pius Kioko and Fredrick Muli. He was an uncle to Samson Mbuka (ICRA), Danson Mulinge, Joseph Sileti, Patrick Makusa, Felix Mbondo, Mechanic Wambua (Muumandu), Joyce Masoo, Musili Kyule, Andrew Mendeni, Evans Maingi. Simon Nthiwa, Alphonce Mbondo, Paul Kamuya, Lameck Mutinda, Bernedetta Mwende, Kanini Kamota, Meshack Kioko and many others. He was a friend and colleague to many.
Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Kyakavoo village, Muumandu, Hilltop Hotel, Muumandu and virtually through Whatsapp groups.
There will be a mini-fundraiser to help offset the hospital bill on 17th March 2021 at the New Tea Tot Hotel, Machakos from 5.00 pm – 6.30 pm.
Cortege leaves Lee Funeral Home on Saturday, 20th March 2021 at 5.00 am for a private burial at his home in Kyakavoo Village, Muumandu.
