JOSIAH NYAKUNDI GETENGA

Born: 1946 – Rested: 9th May, 2021

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mr. Josiah Nyakundi Getenga, which occurred on 9th May, 2021. Retired Headteacher of Kiogo and Kioneanyo Primary schools and church elder at Jogoo SDA Church, Kisii.

Son of the late Getenga Tiecheri and late Milkah Kwamboka. Husband of Elizabeth Kwamboka. Son-in-law of the late Johnson Matundura and the late Teresa Nyaechero. Father of Florence Mogoa (H/Teacher Gekongo I Primary School), Adolfus Ongwae (MoH Nakuru North), Albert Ondieki (Judiciary Nairobi), Dr. Augustus Onchari (Chuka University), Amos Ooga (KTRH),Angeline Kerubo (Chaymen Primary, Kericho) and Maj. Amon Nyansera (KDF).

Brother of the late Mokaya, the late Asiago, Morangi, Ondari, Eunice and Kemuma. Father-in-law of Moruri Mogoa, Veronica Loiborkera, Catherine Kimani, Emilly Okworo, Adeline Miyoyo, Justine Mbera and Evelyn Moraira. Grandfather of 22 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his Jogoo home in Kisii Town and his Geturi Village home for prayers and funeral arrangements.

The cortege leaves the Kenyatta University Hospital Funeral Home, on 18th May, 2021 for burial at his rural home Geturi Village, Nyatieko Location, Kitutu Chache Sub-county, Kisii County. All Covid-19 protocols will be strictly adhered to.
