It is with heavy hearts and profound sorrow that the Nyaberi family announce the death of Retired Mwalimu Joseph Nyaberi Nyamwaya of Isoge Village, Borabu District, Nyamira County (formerly of Nyamasibi Village, Nyaribari Masaba) after a month’s illness bravely borne.

He was son to the late Nyamwaya Mirundia and late Kemunto Mokua. He was husband to Priscah Kemunto, the late Billiah Bosibori Nyakego, Agnes Kwamboka and Priscah Nyanchama. Loving father to Rose, Charles, Evans (Sotik Tea), Florence, late Robert, Beatrice, Jane, late Evalyne, late Hesbon and Handson, Pr.Dr.Leakey Mokua (USA),Wycliff, Linet, Doreen, Nyamwaya, David and Julius, Bridget, Edwin (ANNES LTD), Judith, Merciline (Qutar) and Caroline, Esbon, Lilian, George ,Nancy.

Nyaberi was brother to Omare, Mogusu, Oburi, Barongo (all late), Bonareri, Kerubo. Son in-law to late Kiana Bwonyangore and late kwamboka, late Pr. Wilson Nyakego and late Mwango, Late Kasmil Nyagaka and late Matundura, and late Ogeto and Bitutu. He was brother in-law to Kiana China, Pastor Charles and Richard Nyakego, Hon. Mwancha Okioma, Hellen Nyamao, Margret Moraa, Pacifica and Obong’o Ogeto.

Father in-law to Joseph, Damaris, Martha, Jackline (Dubai), Kwamboka, Morang’a, Kennedy, Otieno, Dr. Victoria Wambua (USA), Bosibori, Happiness, Evans, late Isaac, Catherine (Nzowasco), Jared, Mary, Evans, Makanga, Bosire, Edna. Nyaberi had 65 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Joseph was stepbrother to Okemwa, Nyakweba and others. He was “Korera” to the late Mabiria, late Ndege and Kemunto, late Chweya and Agnes, late Marando and late Clemence, late Isaac and late Moraa, James and Agnes Wambua, Walter and late Edna, late Charles and Hellen, Onsarigo and Dorca , James and Beatrice, Late Birundu and Moraa, Merande and late Kwamboka, Priscah and Ayaga, Dennis and Alice, Ntabo and Wilfridah, Peter and Gesare, late Naftal and Monlina, late Omariba and late Mary, late Chief Oyagi and Dorca, James and Milka.

Nyaberi was nephew to late Getanda. Cousin to Manyara, Bunduki, Iteeba. He was uncle to Richard, Reuben, Meshack Nyamwaya (USA), Mogalca, Teresa, Joel, Elkanah, Nyamwaya Onderi, Jane, among others.

The body leaves Mt. Elgon Hospital Mortuary- Kitale on Sunday, 27th to a Mortuary in Nyansiongo. The same will be picked from there on Monday, June 28th. The service and burial will be held in his home at Isoge Settlement Scheme, Plot no. 5, Borabu Constituency Monday, 28th at 11am. ALL COVID-19 PROTOCOLS WILL BE ARDHERED TO.
