It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing on of our beloved Rachel Gakunga Kamau of Rironi and Muguga, which occurred at MP Shah Hospital.

Wife of the late Simon Kamau Waweru. Mother to the late Pauline Njeri, Joan Nyambura (Ohio), Juliana Wanja, Patricia Ndaiga, Mathew Waweru (Ohio) and the late Irene Wanjiku. Mother-in-law to Ben Wamburi, Daniel Ngigi (Ohio), James Mugo (Tman) and Chris Kabiro Ndaiga. Daughter of the late Simon Warunge Njire and the late Eva Nyambura Warunge. Step-daughter to the late Wanjeri Warunge and the late Loise Njeri Warunge.

Grandmother to Chanice Wangui, Muthoni Ngigi, Jada Ngigi, Moses Mugo, Wachira Ndaiga, Eleanor Ndaiga,Angela Ndaiga and Triza Ndaiga. Sister to the late Eunice Wanjiku Nyingi, Eliud Kihara, the late Elizabeth Njeri Kahiri, David Kamau, Anne Wangari Komba and the late Owen C. Ngethe. Step-sister to Grace Wanjiku Kamau, Lucy Nyariara Njoroge, Susan Wanjiku Munyinyi, Allan Njire, the late Winnie Muthoni Kihara, Rachael Gakunga Kinigara, the late Kenneth Mungai, Owen Ngethe, the late Nicholas Njoroge and Caroline Wangari Maze (US). A sister-in-law, cousin and aunt to many.

The cortege will leave MP Shah Funeral Home on Tuesday 6th July, 2021, at 9.00am. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at her farm in Muguga, Limuru from 11.00am. Burial will follow thereafter at the same venue. Strict Covid- 19 protocols will be observed according to GoK regulations. The funeral service will also be live-streamed via YouTube for virtual attendance.
