JAMES MWANGI BERNARD KARANI

It is with profound sadness and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of James Mwangi Bernard Karani, which occurred on Friday 27th August, 2021.

Husband to the late Rosemary Muthiri and Sarah Muthoni. Father to Njoroge, Gitau, Wangui, Suzzane Muthoni, Njeri Wachira, Wanjiku Kimani, Josephine Nyarumbwa, Christine Wangui Chege, Grace Njeri and Rachael Wanjiru. Grandfather to Rosemary Muthiri, Kathleen Wairimu, Lynn Muthiri, Lenny Mwangi, Matthew Wachira,Wangeci Wachira, Ndungu, Daniel, Moses, Baraka,Wangu, and Mwaniki.

Son of the late Bernard Karani Kimani and the late Lilian Wangui. Brother to the late Johana Kimani, the late David Mwangi, Peter Mburu, Jane Njeri, Nancy Njoki and the late Margaret Wanjiru. Father-in-law to the late Lucy Muthoni, the late Simon Muraya, John Wachira, Kennedy Kimani, Patrick Mungal, and Wallace Chege.

Son-in-law to the late Gitau wa Iburu, and Milkah Wathoni wa Gitau; the late Nahashon Gichohi and the late Josephine Nyarumbwa. Brother-in-law to Frederick Ndungu, the late Nancy Wanjiku Gatuhi (Tata Wanjiku), David Ngugi (Mama Ngugi) and the late Ruth Wanjiru (Mucungi). Also a brother-in-law to the late Edith Njoki, Rachel Njeri, Martin Mwaura, Geoffrey Githinji, Martha Wangari, Stephen Kimani, John Chiira, Joyce Ngendo, and Emily Wanjiru.

A Memorial Service will be held at the ACK St. Matthew’s Church, Hardy Estate (adjacent to Hardy Police Station), on Thursday 2nd September, 2021 starting at 11.00am.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Kabati, on Friday 3rd September, 2021, at 9.00am, for the funeral and burial ceremony commencing at 11.00am, at his home in Kandara, Murang’a County.

Friends and family members are meeting for prayers daily at 5.00pm, at his Karen home on Bogani Road.

Owing to the COVID-19 restrictions, the ceremony is private and strictly limited to family members. All Protocols and MoH directives on COVID-19 to be adhered to.
