It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Bernard Hunja Mwanaru that occurred on Friday, 27th August, 2021. He hails from Gakoe Laini Village, Gatundu North in Kiambu County.

Son of the late Mwanaru Muchiri Kago and the late Lucy Watiri. Husband of Margaret Watiri. Father of the late Anthony Muchiri, David Wanyoike (Kareme), Lucy Njeri, Joyce Muthoni, Felister Nyambura (Diani), Anastacia Wanjiru, Jane Wambui (Kiembeni), Peter Kago (USA), Sarah Wanjiku (Diani) and Joseph Mburu (Diani).

Brother of Loice Wanjiru Njau, the late John Kago, the late Mary Wambui, Rachael Wairimu Kariuki, the late Samuel Githinji and Grace Njuguini Kabui. Brother in-law of the late Njenga, Kimani, Kangethe, Wanjiru, Wanjiku and Njambi (Kitale).

Grandfather of Watiri (Sweden), Wanyoike (Ford), Njore, Dolly (Mombasa), Watiri (Germany), Denis, Maxwel, Hunja Kago, Leon, Watiri Mburu, among others. Great-grandfather of many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his home in Gakoe Laini, Gatundu North, Kiambu County for prayers and funeral arrangements starting at 4.00pm.

The cortege will leave Bishop Okoye Funeral Home – Thika on Tuesday, 7th September, 2021, at 8.00am, followed by a funeral service and burial at his home in Gakoe Laini, Gatundu North, Kiambu County starting at 10.00am.
