MARY WANJIRU WAINAINA

It is with humble acceptance of God’s Will that we announce the passing of Mary Wanjiru Wainaina which occurred on Monday, 11th of October, 2021, after a short illness.

She was the daughter of the late Ernest Njuguna and the late Lucrezia Waithira. Sister to Anselim Kimani, the late Peter Ngugi and Catherine Njoki. Loving wife to the late Mark Wainaina Kagwe. Mother to Dr. Fackson Kagwe, Milka VVamucii, Lucy Kiagiri, John Kagwe, Rose Hjortnaes, Josephine Ongegu, Dr. Nungari Salim, George Kamande, the late Lucy Wairimu, Jane Njeri, Priscilla Wanjiku, the late Modesta Nyathiga, Beatrice Wangui, Charles Ng’ang’a, the late Peter Ngugi and Bernadette Mwihaki.

She was the mother in love to Lucy Wanjiru, the late Mr. Mburu, the late Patrick Kiagiri, Phyllis, the late Hjortnaes, Samson Ongegu, Salim Ali, Lucy Wangui, Patrick Ndenga, Mathias Ndonga, Mike Borders, Jemimah Ng’ang’a, Nancy Njeri and Anthony Ndegwa. She is survived by 59 grandchildren and 65 great grandchildren.

There will be Mass celebrated at her home – Kabuthia farm at 2.00pm on Friday, 15th October, 2021.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home at 8.00am on Saturday, 16th October, 2021 followed by a Requiem Mass at 11.00am at her home in Gitura Village, Murang’a County. Burial will be at her Kabuthia farm in Gitura Village on the same day.

It is the Lord who gave us Mary, and it is He, who has taken her home to His Kingdom. May His name be praised by all.

Eternal rest grant unto her Oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her, may she rest in peace, Amen!
