MZEE PETER OKUMU OBONYO

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of our father Mzee Peter Okumu Obonyo.

Son of the late Robertus Obonyo Gundu and the late Clementina Adie.Husband to Jane Okumu, the late Mother Jane Okal,the late Marcella Adoyo, the late Benedetta Odota and the late MaryOkumu. Son-in-law of Jotham Omiena and Roselida Omiena of Asembo Kanyikela, and Silvanus Odiwuor and Mary Odiwuor of Imbo, the late Okal Owango of Asembo Kanyikela; the late Augustus Onditi and Rose Onditi of Ramula Kodumo; the late Joash Odota and Clementina Anayo of Alego Kanyaluo.

Father of Paul Ajwang’ Okumu (Ceaser), Zachary Okumu, Christopher Obonyo, Isaiah Owuoth, Benard Okumu, Christine, Mary, Maurice, Stephen, Pamela, Stella, Annette, Maryleah and the late Abraham Okumu.Brother of Tom Obonyo, Grace Obonyo, Consolata Ongoro, Silah Obonyo, Fredrick Obonyo, the late Casmwel Ajwang’and the late Sabina Ambuso.

Cousin to Alloyce Gundu, Joseph Achar Lucia Abong’o, Margarita Owuoth, the late Patrice Obondo, the late Andrew Omboto and the late Lucas Abong’o. Beloved uncle of Dickson Ambuso, Dancan Ajwang’ Seline Ajwang’,Pauline Okul, Michael Gundu, Vincent Obondo and Dr. John Omboto.

Peter was a family man with many uncles and aunts. He is survived with several grandchildren and was a notable friend of Dalmas Olweny and Dr. Michael Obura of Alupe Hospital, Busia.

Funeral arrangements are going on daily at his home in Upper Nyakach Kajimbo, Gari Sub-location. Funeral service will held at his home on 23/10/2021 under Bishop Johannes Pambo and Fr. Johannes Nyauche of Legio Maria Church, Nyabondo Diocese. Burial will be conducted later same place at a family only celebration.

There will be a fundraising drive at All Saints Cathedral on 19/10/2021 from 5.00pm by friends and family. All are welcome. Paybill is 4079225 for Funeral Support.
