DR. PETER GITHANGA MWATHI (PROFESSOR)

It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce thepassing on of Dr. Peter Githanga Mwathi, formerly of Kenyatta University on 21st October, 2021 after a long Illness bravely borne.

Loving husband to (late) Hannah Njoki Mwathi and Elizabeth W. Nguring’a of the Office of the Auditor-General. He was father to; David Wakahu, Albert Nyoike Mwathi, Zipporah Njoki Mwathi (Polygraphic Ltd), Leonard Mwathi, Alex Mwathi, Tabitha Njeri Mwathi and Dr Kevin Nguring’a (KNH). Father in Law to; Wairimu Wakahu, John Njoroge Mburu, Georgina Gichuru and Alex Mungai.

Grandfather to; Hannah Mold, Kelly Nganga, Dennis Wakahu, Tony Wakahu, Rita Nganga, Hannah Mwathi, Jasmine Mercy Mugoiri Mungai, Ayanna Hannah Njoki Mungai, Kamau Mungal, Githanga Gichuru, Michael Gichuru. He was son to the late Leonard Wahuria Mwathi and the late Zipporah Njoki.

Brother to: Kenneth Gichuru Mwathi, John Muhia Mwathi, Samuel Kuria Mwathi, Hosea Mwathi, Hilda Wangari Mwathi, Michael Irungu Mwathi, Joyce Njeri and Joseph Njoroge Mwathi.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily for prayers at PCEA Loresho Community Church at 5p.m.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home at 8 a.m on Thursday, 28th October for a funeral service at PCEA Loresho Community Church at 10 a.m and thereafter burial to be held at his home in Thogoto.
