GLADYS NJERI MAINA

It’s with great sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death and funeral of Gladys Njeri Maina, of Kaharo Village, Maragwa Sub-Location, Murang’a County.

Daughter of the late Edward Maina Kara, BeatriceWanjiru Maina and the late Kelly Mumbi Maina. Loving wife of the late Dr. Simon R K. Karuu and mother to Betty Karuu, Phyllis Kiarie, Valentine Kiarie and Victor Kiarie.

Sister to the late Dr. Peter Kara, Eunice Njeri, Lydia Mwangi, Onesmus Kara, Gibson Kanyanjua, Anne Wanjiku, Late John Mwangi, James Mbugua, Lucy Wamuhu, Grace Magiri, Timothy Tadeo, Winnie Wanjiku, Julius Kara, Muiruri Maina,Wambui Maina, Mercy Wanjira. Doting grandmother to Sonshine Shallom, Daystar Amani and Ai Wendo. Aunt and cousin to many.

Sister-in-law to Banga Theceri, John Gathuka, Samuel Njoroge, Late Isaac Kigia, Joseph Nganga Theceri and Elizabeth Njeri Theceri among others.

Gladys formerly served at the Ministry of Agriculture, KARI, KEPHIS, PCPB and AFFA. She also served on various national and private boards including Kaharo Secondary & Nginda Girls School.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta University Referal Teaching and Training Hospital Funeral Home on Wednesday, 27th October, 2021, at 7.30am for a funeral service and interment at her mother’s home in Kaharo Village, Maragwa Sub-Location, Murang’a County.
