ZAKARY KABUGI MATU

1922 – 2022

It is with the humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Zakary Kabugi Matu of Kiamariga village, Mathira West Sub-county, Nyeri on 25th February, 2022, at Mathari Hospital – Nyeri, after a short illness.

Son of the late Jeremiah Matu and the late Jennifer Wakini. Brother to the late Julia Gakenia Githiro, the late Joseph Nguru, the late Lucy Wanjiku, Isabella Wangu Kamunya and Josephat Macharia. Husband o Susan Wanjiku Kabugi and the late Martha Wamaitha Kabugi.

Father to Jennifer & James Wanjohi, the late Dickson Matu, Dadson & Millicent Weru, Monica & Henry Githui, Millicent & James Ngumo, Dr. Virginia & John Kimani, Rev. Naomi & Benjamin Maina (Canada), David & Hanna Mau, Stephen & Esther Nguru, Alfred & Lilian (deceased) & Jane (deceased) Machiri, James (deceased) & Juliet Macharia, Joseph & Lucy Nguru, Flora & Peter Kariuki, Esther & Richard Ng’etich,Alex &Wanjiku Wacira, Lister & Margaret Warutere, Mi & Pauline Wanjohi, Robert & Charity Macharia, Martin & Mary Matu, Esther Wamuyu, Julia & David Murage (USA).A grandfather and great-grandfather to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at his Kiamariga home, and at the All Saints Cathedral -Nairobi – on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd March, 2022, from 5.00pm.

The cortege leaves Mathari Hospital – Nyeri – on Friday 4th March, 2022, at 7.30am. Service and funeral will follow thereafter at the Kiamariga home starting at 10am.
