COLONEL FLAVIAN MWANGI WAWERU

It is with great sadness and with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing away of Colonel Flavian Mwangi Waweru, Commandant, Kenya Airforce Training Wing, Moi Airbase, Eastleigh, Nairobi.

Beloved husband to Carol Makele Amayi-Mwangi, of Zamara and doting father to Wendy Wangui, Jason Waweru – Mathu and Lisa Saraoki.

Son of Brig (Rtd) Dr. Waweru Mathu JM and Bernadette Wangui & Millicent Wakonyo. Brother to Lucy & James Garling (UK); Paul & Sarah Njoroge; Maryanne & Alex Loiacono (UK); Fr. Gabriel Waweru (USA); Andrew & Pauline Mwangi; Sylvia Njeri, James Ngari and Paul Mwangi.

Son-in-law to WOI (Rtd) Jairus Jason Amayi & the late Betty Amayi & Rosebert Ambetsa. Brother-in-law to Patrick & Centrine Amayi; Gloria & David Davidson (USA), Diana and Yvonne Amayi.

Uncle to Natasha & Franky Garling, Kui, Ryan, Isaac & Gabriel Njoroge, Noah & Sami Loiacono, Alvin & Kelsie Mwangi and Nathan Ngari.

Nephew and cousin to the Omari’s, Njoroge’s, Kabura’s, Muthoni’s, Wanjiru’s, Kimemia’s, Kaba’s, Njoki Kimani’s, Wambui Njoroge’s, Chege’s and Nyanjau Gateri’s families.

Meetings are being held daily at his residence, Royal Arcade Apartment, off Gitanga Road from 6:00pm.

A Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday, 5th October 2022 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, Moi Air Base, Nairobi from 10:30am.

The cortege will leave Kenya Defence Forces Memorial Hospital Funeral Home at 7:00am for his Bitai Farm, Kariamu, Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County on Friday, 7th October 2022 for the final funeral rites and interment. The Funeral Mass will start at 9:00am.
