JAPUONJ WILLIS HELEKIAH KABASA REGE

It is with profound sorrow that we, The Rege family announce the passing on of Japuonj Willis Helekiah Kabasa Rege who went to be with the Lord on 16 November 2022 at Nightingale Hospital, Kisumu.
He was son to the late Nashon Rege and the late Mama Esther Agango of West Karachuonyo, Homa Bay County.
Husband to Mama Anne Juma, Joyce Atieno and Dorice Awino. His children are Lilly Kabasa,Tom Agwenge, William Odidi, Kenn Kabasa (Ketraco), Johnson Kabasa (Kolwal Primary School), James Omondi (Kanjira Primary School), Major Edward Kabasa (DOD HQs), Maureen Kabasa (Karen Technical College, Nrb),Angeline Kabasa (Ministry of Health HQ, Nrb), Esther Kabasa and the late (Ghana Kabasa, Eunice Okore, Dorothy Anyango, Shem Onyango, Berryl Adhiambo, Bertha Ayaki and Akello).
Father-in-law to the late Wylberfoce Juma, Ben Okore, the late Fred Aoko, Dan Obonyo, Oscar Saeni and the late George Odhiambo. He has left behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
His daughters-in-law are Irene Agwenge, Isdora Onyango, Beatrice Achieng’, Rose Auma, Lilian Al udo, Mercy Omondi and Claris Ogolla.
He was a step son to Fibi Nyakure, Elseba Akinyi Rege and Jeniffer Rege, all deceased.
His Uncles were the late (Abade Kwanya, Obuya Kwanya, Anyama Kwanya, Ng’ong’a Kwanya, Abiero Kwanya, Ogutu Kwanya, Obonyo Kwanya, Ogola Kwanya, Ouma Kwanya) and David Oriko Kwanya.
He was brother to Hon. Eng James Rege, Prof Ed Rege, Martin Rege, the late (Saul Obong’o, George Rege, Shem Kwanya, Odero Rege, Joel Kwanya), Salome Odero Jowi, Anne Oginga, Rosemary Auma, Rebeca Opiyo, Saline Okong’o and the late Jane Awuor.
His in-laws are the late Henry and Mickal Omom, Gideon and Grace Okore, Elijah and Dorice Aoko, Sakayo and Margaret Opiyo, Jacktone and Eda Migwer, Gabriel and Mary Ogola, Joseph and Pertina Obala Pedo, Stephen and Rael Aludo, Joseph and Judith Oloo Marenya, Philip and Eunice Oyoo, Nelson and Nereah Ogola, Gerishon Kololi and Margaret Mafenyi as well as the late Philentinus Odingo.
His fathers-in-law were David Onuong’a, Gony Oswe and Daniel Ogallo, all deceased. Mothers-in-law were Turfena Onuong’a, Christabel Gony and Grace Ogallo, all deceased.
He shall be laid to rest on 1 December 2022 at his home in Kamwania Sub-location, Rachuonyo North Sub-county, Homa Bay County.
A fundraiser to help in burial arrangements shall be held at his home in Kamwania village on 29 November 2022. Pay bill Number is 8048257 account name; Senders name.
