PROF. GEORGE ALBERT OMORE MAGOHA

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will and with deep sorrow that we announce the passing on of Prof. George Albert Omore Magoha on January 24th 2023.
Beloved husband to Or. Odudu Barbara Magoha, Honorary Consul of Mali in Kenya. Loving father to Dr. Michael Augustus Magoha, father-in-law to Dr. Judy Githinji and grandfather to Barbara Aloo Magoha.
He was born to the late Mzee Bernard Boniface Magoha and the late Mama Joan Sara Aloo Magoha of Ahono Village, Ratudi, East Gem in July 1952. Brother to the late Consolata Magoha, the late William Ogola Magoha, John Obare Magoha, Mary Owuor Magoha, the late Captain Charles Agunga Magoha, the late Michael Achianja Magoha, the late Prof. Richard Nyabera Magoha, Joseph Oyile Magoha and Pauline Dola.
He was brother in law to Felistas Ogola, Agatha Obare, the late Socrates Owuor,Truphena Agunga, Janet Magoha, Edwina Magoha and the late Tom Dola.
He was Son- in- law to the late Dr. A. J. Essien and the late Mrs. Evelyn J. Essien of Nigeria. He was brother-in-law to Dr. Ekan Essien (USA), Dr. Ifiok Essien (Nigeria), Eng. Nsikak Essien (Nigeria), Dr.Augustus Essien, Jnr (Nigeria), the late Mr. Unwana Essien, and Mrs. Ekaidung Udoh (Nigeria).
He was nephew to Julius Odudu, Marsellar Awera, Francisca Wadira,the late Pauline Anyango, and Elizabeth Omore amongst others. He was cousin to Raphael Tuju, Dr. Beatrice Akongo Dimba, Morris Owira, George Awandu, George Agutu, Peter Awandu, the late Acheleus Obingo, the late Bernadette Okello, Andrew Ogolla, Alfred Agunga amongst others.
He was uncle to Evelyn Adhiambo Ondego, the late Claire Obare,Aloys Kemo, the late Caroline Magoha, Crystal Magoha, Bernard Magoha and Sam Dola amongst others.
Prof. George Magoha was a loving family man, an astute scholar, an educator a reknowned surgeon and a loyal friend who always impacted society positively. His life was a blessing to many, his memory is a treasure; he loved his family beyond words and his legacy will be found in the lives he touched and the people who loved him.
Please join us in remembering Prof. George Albert Omore Magoha in a series of solemn funeral events leading to his interment. On February 8, 2023 a farewell caravan shall proceed from Lee Funeral Home, through some of the places that made the man, Prof. George Magoha, including the College of Health Sciences-University of Nairobi, the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council Headquarters, the Nigerian High Commission, St. George’s Primary School, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) Offices along Dennis Pritt Road, State House Girls High School and Starehe Boys Centre.
There shall be a requiem mass at the Consolata Shrine, Westlands on Thursday, February 9th, 2023 at 9:00am.
On Friday, February 10th, 2023 the body will be airlifted to Township Primary School, Yala at 1:00pm before a procession leading up to St Mary’s Boys Secondary School, Yala, and a service which will be held at his home in Umiru Nyamnina.
There will be a funeral mass at Odera Akang’o University College on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 10:00am and thereafter he shall be laid to rest at his home in Yala.
