MZEE JOSEPH GATONYE KIMANI

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of the Agikuyu Council of Elders, North Rift Chairman Mzee Joseph Gatonye Kimani, that occurred on 11th May 2023.

The son to the late Kimani wa Gatonye and the late Njeri wa Kimani. Step-son to Eunice Wambui.

Beloved husband to the late Joyce Muthoni and Jane Wanjiku. Most loving father of Margaret Njeri, John Kimani, Evanson Kinyanjui, Joyce Wanjiku, Stanley Njung’e, Peter Kimani, Beatrice Njeri, Lucy Waithera, Esther Njambi, Silvia Waithera and Faith Njeri.

Father-in-law to Henry Ngare, the late Ann Njarumi, Rachael Wanjiku,Henry Kiptoo, Emma Gakii, Zakayo Ngetich, Oliver Ayieko and Hon. Maina Wachira.

Brother to Waithera, the late Njunge, Njeri, the late Gatonye, Kinyanjui, David, the late Karugi, Waithera, Gitau, Kirai and Njoroge. He was a grandfather to many.

Daily Meetings at his home in Mwanco Estate – Eldoret from 6.00pm.

The cortege leaves Eldoret Hospital on Friday the 19th May 2023 at 8.00am for the funeral and burial at Kamukunji Cemetery.
