MAMA SALOME OMOLO

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mama Salome Omolo of Gem Kathomo, which occurred on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

She was the daughter of the late Samwel Oyieke and the late Mama Susana Otieno, Mama Julia Muga, and Mama Wilkister Ogada all of Kanyada Katuma.

Loving wife of the late Boaz Omolo Onyimbo. Beloved mother of Prof. Calvin Odhiambo (South Carolina, USA), Irene Owiti Odoyo (Kenindia Assurance, Nairobi), C.P.A. Millicent Florence Owino (East African Tea Trade Association, Mombasa), Maureen Omollo (USA), Wycliffe Onyimbo (Nairobi), Arnold Oyieke (formerly Texas, USA), and Engineer Philip Dan Nyanjom (New KCC).

Grandmother to Adrian and Lila Odhiambo, Winnie and Philip Odoyo, Ronnie, Chelsea, and Asher Owino Jr. Calvin, Jesse, and Imani Nyanjom. Grandmother-in-law to Tori Neet Odhiambo.

Sister to Ezekiel (late), Moses (late), Sarah (late), Esther (late), and Elizabeth, Diana Opondo, Prof. Bill Oyieke (late), Tom Oyieke, Perez Owuor (late), Peter (late), Joshua and Rhoda Orengo, Joel, Harun (late), David, Prof. Anne Obondo, Elkana (late), Dr. Samwel Oyieke, Jane Ogango, and Elijah (late), all of Kanyada Katuma.

Sister-in-law to Hezron Mboga, Amelea Onyani,Aloice Atieno, Dominic Owiny, Shem Okwadha, and Silas Ongolo (all late), Dr. Helida Oyieke, Dr. Florence Oyieke, Ruth Ochola, Lillian, and many others.

Mother-in-law to Eva Aseno Odhiambo, Argwings Odoyo, Asher Owino, Alexia Omollo and Roselyn Nyanjom.

Nyawana to Mzee Benjamin Aseno (late) & Mama Rebecca Aseno, Ben Odoyo (late) & Mama Margaret Odoyo, Gilbert (late) & Mama Margaret Ojungo,Abbe & Angela Ark, and Yona & Emelda Maina.

Aunty to Samwel Onyango, Charles Ochieng (late), Martin Owiny, Onyango Ongolo, George Onyimbo (late), Jerry Imbo (late), and many others.

Family and friends are meeting daily at her daughter, Irene Odoyo’s house in Westlands, Nairobi for prayer and burial preparations from 6 p.m.

There will be a fundraising on Monday, June 5 from 5:30 p.m. in the Old Sanctuary at Nairobi Central Seventh-day Adventist Church on Milimani Road (Opposite Integrity Center) to help with funeral expenses. Mpesa contributions paybill no:935033 (Acc. Put your name).

The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8 2023. Burial will take place on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Sinderma Village, Kagilo in Gem, Siaya County.
