LUKE SIMBA KODAMBO

It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Luke Simba Kodambo who passed away on 18 May 2023. He was the former chairman of the National Nurses Association of Kenya (2005 – 2012). He also was a senior nursing officer at Kenyatta National Hospital until his retirement in 2021.

He was the husband of Judith Simba (Oruba Primary) and father to Beryl Simba (Ulanda Girls), Mercy Simba (NCBA Bank), Amollo Simba (IKM Advocates), Andy Simba (Catholic University), Mark Joe Simba (Mang’u High School) and also an adopted father of Kelly Mong’are (Musa Gitau Girls).

Grandfather to Barbara, Cyril and Luke.

Father-in-law to Dr. Calford Otieno (Kisii University) and Collins Okumu (Nairobi).

Son to the Late William Odambo and the late Masliana Odambo. Son-in-law to the late Andrew Omia and the late Cornelia Omia.

He was the brother to Sarah Akinyi, Samuel Odambo, the late Jane Ouma, the late Peter Kodambo, Alphius Kodambo and Grace Onyango.

The cortege will leave St Joseph Omboo funeral home on 8 June 2023 for a requiem mass at St. Celestine Catholic Church Oruba in Migori and thereafter depart to Nyalenda village in Oyugis for an overnight vigil. Burial will be held on Friday 9 June 2023 at his home in Nyalenda village in Oyugis town.
