ELIZABETH MERAB MACLEANS

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the demise of Miss Elizabeth Merab Macleans of Nation Media Group, which occurred on Saturday 1st July, 2023 at Agha Khan University Hospital, after a long illness.

She is the daughter of Mr. Gideon Macleans Obar and the late Pamela Anyango Macleans. Step-daughter to Mrs Verah Anyango Macleans. Sister to Nereah Achieng Macleans, Nancy Mical Awino Macleans, the late Joan Christine Macleans, Sheril Amondi Macleans (Our Lady of Mount Carmel Maryhill Girls High School), Gift Willis Macleans (Crystal Hill Academy).

Step-sister to Alvins Omondi Macleans (Machakos University), Teddy Jakes Macleans (University of Nairobi), Sally Margret Macleans (Kenyatta University), Karina Atieno Macleans (Crystal Hill Academy), Joan Christine Akoth Macleans (Crystal Academy).

Sister-in-law to Dr. Stephen Batti and Derick Israel.

Niece to the late Stephen Anyal Obar, the late Joseph Ochieng Obar, Caleb Oginga Obar, the late Gilbert Otieno Obar,Thomas Mboya Obar, David Owaka Obar, Naftali Opiyo Obar Dan Otieno Obar, Benard, Onyango Obar, Richard Obar, Solomon Obar,Vincent Obar, Roselyn Anyal, the late Janet Awuor, Purity Kinya Mboya, Pamela Oginga, Kennedy Aloo, Judith Aloo.

Granddaughter to the late William Obar, the late John Aloo, Agnes Obar, Prisca Aloo, Simon Sala and Yuniter Sala.

The cortege will leave Chiromo Funeral Palour on Wednesday 2nd August, 2023 for a requiem mass at Maxwell Adventist Church – Nairobi, from 1.00pm and thereafter the cortege will travel to his father’s rural home (Kokwanyo Location, Rachuonyo Sub-county, Homabay County), on Thursday 3rd August, 2023, at 8.30am for overnight vigil.

The burial service will be held on Friday 4th August, 2023 conducted by Pastor Arthur Ogal Otieno of Kokwanyo East District, assisted by Elder Melkizadek Okoth.
