MAMA DORCELA AKONG’O MBEWA

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mama Dorcela Akongo Mbewa (Nyachwanya) which occurred at Meditrina Hospital in Homa Bay on 18/09/2023.

She was the loving wife to the late Cllr. David Mbewa Ndede. She was the co-wife to Loice Mbewa, the late Maria and Salina Mbewa.

She was the daughter of the late Daniel Chwanya and Dorcas Adera of Kanyada Kanyabala. Sister to Kerina Nyangeno, the late Ogutu Chwanya, Samwel Kidew, Anyanga Chwanya, Odira Chwanya, Senior Chief Joshua Ochogo, Joshua Otulo, Serfina Okunya among others.

She was the loving mother to the late Joshua Osumba,Tobias Mbewa (TF),Thomas Otieno, the late Gordon, Hulder Anyango, Kepha, Dr. Martin, Carnael Atieno, Duncan, TJ Mbewa, Ndede, Tom, Samwel Atito, Mary Onditi, Rhoda, Hulda Awino, the late Sophy, the late juma, late Saline Aoko among others.

Her daughters-in law are Janet Osumba, Theresa Ombura, Christine Otieno, Beatrice Otieno, Maureen, Lucy Okoth, Mercy, Pauline and the late Judith and Saline.

She was the loving grandmother to many, among them George Mbewa, David Mbewa jnr, Clinton, Felix Bill, Gordon, Vincent, Carolyne Oyugi, Bianca, Peter, Vera, Sophy, Devina. Dahl, Roselyne, Rinny, Maurine, Sylvia, James, Tina,Blair, David,June, Alston, Emmanuel, Myah, Osumba. Lavine, Mercy & Diana Oongo, Benard & David Oginga, Benard Omondi,Thomas Sure, among others.

She was the sister-in-law to Mzee Boaz Awuor, the late Oteko & Owino Ndede, Oria Ondata, Okano Ochieng. Goga Oyuko, late Ongong’ Oyuko among others.

A fundraising to offset the hospital and funeral expense shall be held on Wednesday 4/10/2023 at All Saints Cathedral Church Nairobi starting from 5.00pm. The ceremony will be presided over by the Leader of Minority in the National Assembly Hon Opiyo Wandayi, MGH, MP.

The cortege will leave Med-2S Funeral Home -Kirindo on Sunday 8/10/2023 at 2.00pm for funeral service to be held on Monday 9/10/2023 at her home in Ochieng’ Odiere Village, Lambwe Central Location, Mbita Sub-County.
