It is with profound sorrow that we announce the death of our family patriarch, Mzee Ezekiel Mose Ongeri of Bikeke Village, Sirende Ward, Kiminini Constituency in Kitale, Trans Nzoia County. He departed on Saturday, 25th November 2023.
Son of the late John Ongeri Maronda and Kemunto of Birongo, Mong’oni village, Bonyaikoma Sub location, Kitutu Masaba in Nyamira County. Step-son of Nyamisa and Monyangi.
Husband of the late Priscilla Mong’ina of Birongo, Migosi Village, Nyaribari Chache and Anna Obonyo of Bogiakumu, Bonchari.
Brother to the late Marinda, the late Moswaeri, Nyaboke, Barongo, Orindo, the late Gechunchugo, the late Motwanga, the late Obiye, the late Tochi, Mong’ina, the late Tobi, Moraa, Manwa, Poland Obegi, the late Kobiro, Mary, Mokaya, Sambu, Nyabuti, the late Maronda, Margaret and the late Kerubo.
Father to the late George (Teni), the late Hellen, Isaac, Jane, Maronda (Baba Nguvu), Maston, Peter, Kerubo, Rose, Gladys, Stella, Dr. Benjarnin Maronda, Samson (Bob) and the late Nyaboke.
Father-in-law to Nyaboke, Florence, Dalvine, Jackline, Nancy, Evans, Gideon, James (Uganda). Abraham, Peris, Rael and Bernard.
Beloved grahdfather to 38 grandchildren among them: Linet, Collins, Dinah, Duke, Geoffrey, Levi, Lucky, Sharon, Beyonce, Moses, Nicholas, Adrian, Marlene, lan among others. He was a beloved great grandfather to 13 great-grandchildren.
Uncle to Osanos, Peter, Doris, Rogers, Dr. Linnet, Wesley, Nicholas, judith, Owen, David, Winnie, Dorothy, George, Naomi, Milkah, Jackline, Lucas, Caroline among others.
Farnily and friends are meeting every day at the family home in Bikeke and Goseta and will hold a harambee on Sunday, Dec 3 in Bikeke and Wednesday, 6th December 2023 in Goseta.
The cortege leaves Cherangany Nursing Home Mortuary on Thursday, 7th December 2023 at 10:00am for the last journey to his resting place in Kitale. The burial will be held the next day Friday, 8th December 2023 at his home in Bikeke, Kitale starting at 10:00arn.
Throughout his full and remarkable life, he taught us the value of hard work, and virtue of patience and the importance of family. As we bid him farewell, we celebrate a life well lived.
