JOEL MURIUNGI M’ITUNGA

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the promotion to glory of Retired Kenya Army Corporal Joel Muriungi M’itunga that occurred on 1st December, 2023 after a long illness bravely borne,

Joel was the loving husband to Rebecca Kagwiria. A devoted and caring father to Nkatha Muriungi and Kelly Bosco Oyoo, Kendi Muriungi and Dan Malidzo and Mutethia Muriungi. Grandfather to Natalia Pendo, Liam Chidzugwe, Kyden Murimi and Natasha Njoki.

He was the son of the late Chief Inspector Charles M’itunga Mbogori and Jemimah Mbogori.Step-son to Beatrice M’itunga. Brother to Stephen and the late Esther Murithi, the late Justus Mwobobia, Peter and Joan Mwongera, Rose and Patrick Muchiri, Joyce and David Mutisya, Naftaly and Agnes Mbaya, Mercy Ntinyari, Michael Mutwiri, Harrison Kiogora, Bertha Irene Gakii and Purity Kanana.

Brother-in-law to the late Francis Muriungi, Christine Kathambi and Sitienei, the late Joseph Kirima and Veronica, Julia Karwitha and Ndungu, Samson Kiriinya and Kanini, the late Andrew Karema and the late Wanja, Gerald Muthiora and Beatrice and the late Henry Bundi. He was an uncle, nephew and a friend to many.

Relatives and friends are meeting at the All Saints Cathedral from 5:00 p.m. for prayers and funeral arrangements today, Wednesday 6th December 2023.

The cortege leaves Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) Funeral Home – Northern Bypass Road, on Friday 8th December at 6:00 a.m. for the Funeral Service at Kiine Village, Nthimbiri, Imenti North in Meru.
