It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Tom Okanga Olewa of Agriculture and Food Authority after a short illness on 5th December 2023.

Loving husband to Getrude Maloba and Mariam Cheptoo. A loving father to Syivia Ayako, Gladwell Atolwa, Petronilla Achungwo and Emmanuel Ekwoka.

Son of Mrs Sarah E. Ekokwa and the late Joash Ekokwa Olewa (Machinery) of former French Electrical Services, Kakamega. Brother to Christine Khachieyi, Rina Olewa, the late Daniel Olewa, Irene Awinja, Jane Olewa, Florence Olewa, Martin Olewa and Zadock Okwemba.

Grandfather of Lincoln Gareth and uncle to Telvin Okang’a, Collins Okang’a, David, Moses, Brian, Leon, Levi, Ladavian, Grace Ayako, Diana Owendi, Sharon Ayuma, Syivia Email, Sandra Asiko, Samava, Nyangweso, Belinda Musabi.

Brother in-law to Joseph Alubak of Homaline Company, Steven Bosire, Kennedy Amianda.

Cousin to Robert Oyando, Caleb Angayia, Charles Asitwa, Andrew Mbuya, Geoffrey Okoba, Samue! Khalechi, Moses Oyando, John Okang’a, Pius Andwala Getrtude Andesia, Kamundiya, Gideon Khalechi, Romona Amayoti, Rosse Okoba, Henry Asitwa Vicforolepha, and a friend to many.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home, Nairobi on Thursday 14th December 2023. The burial will take place on Saturday 16th December 2023 at his rural home in Emuhaya, Elukongo Division, Emakunda Location, Emmukunzi Sub-Location in Vihiga County.
