RHODA NASIMIYU (WAKOLI) WANYAMA

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Rhoda Nasimiyu (Wakoli) Wanyama, who left us peacefully on May 16, 2024, at the age of 91. Born in January 1933 in Chwele, Sirisia, Bungoma County.

Rhoda was the cherished third-born daughter of the late Enock Murunga and the late Leah Natoto. Sister of the late Tabitha Rasoa, the late Jeremiah Lusweti, the late Julius Wamalabe, the late Neddy Nanyama, Jotham Masinde, John Murunga, Joan Murunga, the late Felix Murunga, Isaac Murunga, Hellen Murunga, George Murunga, Erick Murunga, and Brenda Murunga.

She met and married the late William Wanyama Namasaka, with whom she built a beautiful family and legacy. Together, they had eight children: Dr. John Namasaka, the late Peter Barasa, Dr. David Wekesa, the late George Wanjala, the late Sundys Juma, Judith Nanjala, Mary Muyekho, and Pauline Wanyama.

She also leaves behind a cherished legacy with 43 grandchildren and 37 great-grandchildren. Her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

The cortege will leave Cherang’any Funeral Home and arrive at her home in Ndalala Village, Kitale, on Friday, May 24, 2024, for a church service. The burial will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024, starting-at 10:00 AM at her home in Ndalala Village.

Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Rhoda’s life, sharing stories and memories that highlight her remarkable journey and the impact she had on everyone around her.
