It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing on of Mwalimu Erastus Wairagu Wanyiri which occurred on Thursday 13 th June 2024 at Consolata Mathari hospital. Former pioneer principal Gathathi-ini boys.

Son of the late James Wanyiri Wairagu and Esther Wambui Wanyiri.

Son-in-law of the late Josphat Muchangu Njathi and the late Mary Wambui Muchangu.

Loving husband of Beatrice Muthoni Wairagu.

Father of James Wanyiri & Nelly Muthoni Esther Wambui & David Kimotho, Josphat Muchangu & Monica Wanjiru, Mary Mumbi & Steve Gachure, Martin

Ndung’u, Caroline Wangechi and Leah Wairimu.

Grandfather of Wairagus, Muthonis, Wanjiru, Wangari, Waithera, Wambui, Zawadi and Ngigi.

Brother of Steven Ndung’u, the late Charles Mwaniki, the late Samuel Mwangi, George Gichuki, Duncan Ndegwa, Monica Wangechi and Moses Ndiritu.

Friends and relatives are meeting daily at his home in Kihoe Village, Dedan Kimathi ward, Nyeri county.

The cortege leaves Consolata Mathari Mortuary on 21st June 2024 at 8:00am, for a funeral service followed by burial at his farm in Kihoe Village Tetu, from 10:00am.
