It is with profound sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of Esther Sikefu Otieno (Mama Mukunah) which occurred on Monday, 8 th July 2024.

She was the daughter of the late Nyanchokah Ongori and the late Cemessiah Nyatichi.

Sister of Loise Moginah, Ruth Ochoki, the late Peter Omwega, Dominic Nyameta and Samson Nyarige.

She was the wife of the late Nelson Otieno and mother of Stanley Odera (NHIF), Melsa Amkoa, Susan Mwema (Nyahururu Market), Simon Nyachae (Mtalii), Samuel Mukaka (Kaks Auto), Elizabeth Njoroge and Jemimah Nyakundii (U.S.A).

Mother in-law of Naomi, the late Patrick Amkoa, James Mwema, Lucy Mtalii, Judy Mukaka, Peter Njoroge and Vincent Nyangicha (U.S.A).

Step-mother of the late Annah, Abisai Obayo, Zakayo, Gladys Kwendo, Aginetah, Rasto, Robert Otieno, the late Dr. David Akunda, Mary Muthoni, Gilbert Indebe, Lilian Onyach (Laikipia University) and Doreen Otieno.

Grandmother and great grandmother to many.

The cortege leaves Umash Funeral Home, Nairobi on Friday 19th July 2024, at 9:00AM and the burial shall take place on Saturday 20th July 2024 at her farm in Kanjuiri, Nyandarua County.
