It is with profound sorrow and acceptance that the Makunda family announces the passing of Moses Wellington Ong’ong’a Makunda, formerly of the Ministry of Agriculture & ASAL (Maji House).

Son of the late Mzee Aggrey Makunda and the late Mama Sybil Mukoya and Mama Phylis Anyango Makunda of Shibanga Village, Manyika Sub-Location, Buchenya Location of Butere Sub-County in Kakamega County.

Husband of Mrs.Florence Kerubo Makunda.

Father of the late Kenneth Ibrahim Kabene, Lilian Makachia and Remco Brand, Okomboli Ong’ong’a and Wanyiri Mugeni, Stella Nyansiaboka and Benson Iroga, Sybil Mukoya and Karl Lopez, Selina Anyango Ong’ong’a; Eunice Ong’ong’a, Sylvia Angolo and Olivia Mukoya.

Grandfather of Skyle, Ava, Ace, Michael, Jaymz, Marya, Nessy, Gynne,Tessy and the late Neema.

Brother of Anne Khanda, the late Phanice Nyangweso, the late Alice Masinde, Charles Okaka, Silas Makunda, George Makunda, the late Joan Moragia, Ednah Makunda, the late Geoffrey Sakwa, Ibrahim Makunda, the late Kennedy Mukunzi and Penina Nabwire.

In-law of the Ombuna’s of Keumbu, Kisii County. Cousin, friend, and uncle to many in Kakamega County, Siaya County,and beyond.

Funeral meetings are being held daily at his home. His final journey will commence on Friday, 26th July 2024 from the Cherangany Hospital Mortuary with an overnight vigil at his home in Eshibale, Shibanga Village (GPS: 0.245263, 34.533275) where he will be laid to rest on Saturday 27th July 2024.
