PHILIP KARIUKI GITUNGO

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Philip Kariuki Gitungo, former Director of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Ministry of Lands and Settlement.

Philip was son of the late Gitungo Kagotho and the late Martha Nyambura Gatati of Kihumbu-ini.

Brother of the late Milka Wambui, the late Joram Kinyanjui, the late Wangui Kagotho, the late Priscilla Ngonyo, the late James Mwaura Kagotho and the late Susan Wairimu Gathuku.

Beloved Husband of Esther Wanjira and dear father of Stephen Gitungo and Elsie Kariuki, Francis Mwai, Martha Nyambura and Daynier Chacon-Cuesta and the late Priscilla Wanja.

Grandfather of Ethan Philip Kariuki Gitungo, Gabriella Esther Wanjira Gitungo and Wanjira Esther Chacon-Kariuki. Uncle and Friend of many.

The cortège leaves M.P. Shah hospital Mortuary on Wednesday July 31, 2024 at 7:00am for the funeral service at 09:00am that will be held at PCEA St. Andrew’s Church, Nairobi and thereafter he will be laid to rest at the family homestead, in Kigio, Muranga County.
