It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing on of our beloved Teresia Muthoni Gikang’a Mother/ Sister/ Aunt/ Cousin/ Grandmother and a Great Grandmother, who departed peacefully on July 23, 2024.

She lived a life filled with warmth, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family and community.

Daughter of the late Munyambu & the late Wamaitha. Daughter in-law of the late Gitau and the late Mugure Gikang’a.

Wife of the late Francis Gikang’a. Mother of Margaret Wamaitha, the late Anthony Gitau & the late Mumbi, Jane Mugure, Peter Gikanga & Veronica, the late Cecilia Njeri, David Karanja & Beth, and Regina Murugi & the late Ng’ang’a.

Sibling of Murugi, the late Kamanu, the late Wanjiru, Njung’e and Ngugi. Sister in-law of Njeri, Njoki, Karanja, Lucy, Wanjiku, the late Marugu, Helen Gitau, and the late Wanjiru.

Grandmother of many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family members, friends and well wishers are meeting daily at her home in Kerwa, Sigona ward, Kikuyu, Kiambu County for prayers and funeral arrangements.

A requiem mass will held in her honor on the 29th of July 2024 at her home.

The cortege departs from St. Teresa Hospital Mortuary (Kikuyu) for a funeral mass which will be held from 10:00 AM on Wednesday, the 31st of July 2024 at her home and thereafter interment at the same venue.

Though her smile is gone forever and her hand we cannot touch, we shall never lose sweet memories of the one we loved so much.”
