JOHN NGUGI MAINA (SIR NGUGI)
It is with profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of John Ngugi Maina (Sir Ngugi) which occurred on 9th August 2024 after a short illness.
Son of the late Remijio Maina Ngura and the late Margaret Wanjiru Maina & Virginia Nyaguthii Maina.
He was brother of James Mbui & Prof. Damaris Nduta (UON), Grace Wanjiku & Maina Karoki (Membley), Jane Wakanyi & Maina Thaka (USA), Charles Kamanda (KCB) & Faith Wanjiru, Beatrice Wacheke (USA), Elizabeth Nyambura (USA), John Ngura & Joyce Njeri, Charles Mukuha & Sukio Gathoni, Grace Wanjiru, Edward Kamanda & Dorothy Achieng, Jane Mutheki, Elizabeth Wacheke (USA), Cecilia Mumbi & Nana (USA), Jeniffer Waithira, Martin Gichohi, the late Margaret Wanjiku, the late George Kamanda & Lucy Njoki and Mary Waithira.
He was a nephew, cousin and uncle to many.
Relatives and friends are meeting daily at home in Kanjama, Murang’a county, at Munyaka Paramount Hotel, Nairobi and at the All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi, on Wednesday, 14th August 2024 and Thursday, 15th August 2024 from 6.00pm for prayers and funeral arrangements.
The cortege will leave Kiriaini Mission Hospital Mortuary on Saturday, 17th August 2024 at 10.00a.m.
Mass will be at home in Kanjama Sub Location, Kiru Location, Mathioya Sub County, Murang’a County, from 10.30am, followed by internment at the same venue.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. Amen
