SIMON WAIREGI KURIA

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the death of Simon Wairegi Kuria of Iriguini Village, Kigumo Sub-county, Murang’a County on Sunday 11th August 2024.

He was the last born of the late Kuria Wa Kiriri (Munyinyi) and the late Wanjiru Kamanda.

He was husband of Peninah Wambui Wairegi. He was father of Dr. Benson Irungu Wairegi (former Group Managing Director & CEO, Britam Holdings PLC and Chancellor Kenyatta University) & Margaret Warigia, Francis Maina & Margaret Muthoni, the late Mary Wairimu, Andrew Ndirangu & Susan Muthoni, Margaret Wanjiru Mugo, Stephen Kariuki & Monicah Waitherero, Hannah Njeri & Isaac Njihia, Geoffrey Muiruri & Mary Wanjiru & Susan Wangui, Anthony Karanja & Beatrice Wachuka, George Muturi & Pauline Wairimu, Dominic Njuguna & Agnes Wanjiku.

He was brother of the late Hannah Njeri Thuo, the late Muthoni Wanderi, the late Elijah Gitau, the late Wairimu Gatoto, the late Josephat Muiruri (Nderu), the late Rispah Nunga, the late Nduta Kihato and the late Njuguna Kuria (Kabundi).

He was grandfather and great grandfather to many.

Family members and friends are meeting at All Saints Cathedral, CTC building, 2nd Floor on Thursday 15th August, 2024 and Friday 16th August, 2024 at 5.00pm.

The cortege will leave Kenyatta Memorial Funeral Home at 7.00am for funeral service at St Peter Kigumo Catholic Church on Tuesday, 20th August, 2024 at 10.00am followed by burial at his farm at Iriguini Village, Kigumo Subcounty, Murang’a County (next to Irati Coffee Factory).
