COLLETA AKOTH ORIARO

15th September, 1945 – 24th August, 2024

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of Retired Teacher Madam Colleta Akoth Oriaro, which occurred on 24th August 2024 following a short illness.

She was the daughter of the late Joseph Marienga and the late Magdalene Marienga of Sirunga Village in Ugenya.

Daughter-in-law of the late Justo Obalo Oriaro and Nora Muholo. Loving wife of Japuonj George Solomon Oriaro of Yimbo Barkanyango.

Adorable mother of the late Odongo, the late Eunice Nyabar, the late Stephen Omondi & Doreen, Paul & Emmy Oyuga, Edwin & Elizabeth Otieno, Pamela & Collins Ainga, Hellen & Sam Alala Okello, Mary & Jared Abong’o and Martin & Violet Odhiambo.

She was the loving sister of Floriana Ogola, the late Okech, Clementine Ogolla, the late Ambrose Juma, the late Vincent Musenye, the late Agutu, Judith Dudi, the late Caroline, Rose Marienga, Charles, Ohando, Lady Justice Maureen Onyango, Caren, Lilian, the late Mildred, Lorna, the late Jenipher, Irene, Collins, Andrew, Fredrick and Pamela.

Colleta was a dotting grandmother of Ivy Collete, Solomon George Ian, Emelda Norah, Joy Norah, Glen Edmunds, Ryan George, Rose Vivian, Vera, Brandon, George Lennox, Neema, Shukuru, Anita, Angie, Solo, David Washington, Austin Joseph, George Opiyo, Agnetta Adongo, Ellah & Ellan.

Colleta was a respected sister-in-law of John Robert (JR) & Agnetta Odhiambo Obalo, Fridah Yagomba, Rispah Owade, Joan Ojungo (all deceased), George Ogola, the late John Ogolla, Penina Juma, Jane Musenye, Tom Dudi among others.

She was a loving aunty to many.

Nyawana of Martin & Mary Wasonga, the late Zadock and Dorcas Bunyali, the late Raphael and Emmely Ondumbu, the late Gordon and Phoebe Ainga, the late Habakkuk and Rosa Okello, the late John and Elsa Adoyo, Pastor George and Florence Modi.

The cortege will leave Matangwe Mortuary Bondo on Friday, 6th September 2024 for a Requiem Mass at St. Augustine Catholic Church Nyamonye.

Burial ceremony will take place on Saturday, 7th September 2024 at the family home in Kasau Village – Yimbo, Barkanyango directly opposite Bondo Teachers Training College (TTC).
