DR. JULIUS AKWABI MUMIA

It’s with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Dr. Julius Akwabi Mumia which occurred on August 26th, 2024, after courageously battling illness for several years with typical fortitude and humor.

He was husband of Dr. Elizabeth N. M. Mumia, father of the late Brenda, Ivan, Babra and Ian; Grandfather of Julius Mumia Jr, Ashley, Wayne, Terry, Joshua, Jeshaiah, Blessing, Tyrone, Denson, and Apiyo; Great grandfather of Brenda.

He was the son of the late Shadrack Akwabi and Abisagi Ong’oli and son-in-law of Benjamin Mukewa and the late Priscilla Mukewa.

Brother of the late Roda, the late Hon. Dr. Elon, the late Christine, the late Richard, Hellen, the late Apiyo, the late Fredrick, the late Evans, the late Ashton and Ruth. 

A cousin of Fredrick, the late Nalianya, Odongo, Ayema and Amboko among others. He was brother-in-law of the late Elkana Mbati, Joyce, Rose, the late Apollo Ofula Ular, Sarah, Elizabeth, Angeline and Shakaba.

He was Uncle of many: the Mbatis, Wameyos, Sakwas, Ulars, Wakungwis, Weches, Apiyos, Makonjios, Shakabas, and the Mukewas.

The cortege leaves Eldoret Hospital Mortuary on 11th September 2024 for a memorial service at ACK. St. Matthews Cathedral, Eldoret followed by an overnight stay at his Elgon View residence.

The cortege will leave his Elgon view residence on 12th September 2024 for his home in Mwisasia, Mumias East Sub-County.

He will be interred at his home on Friday, 13th September 2024.
