PROF. DAVY KIPROTICH KOECH
It is with profound sadness, grief, and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Prof. Davy Koech on 5th September 2024.
Prof. Koech was the beloved husband of the late Nancy Koech and Wahu Koech.
He was a devoted father, and doting grandfather.
Prof. Koech was the co-founder and former Chief Executive Officer of Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI).
Family and friends are meeting on 12 th, 13 th and 16th September 2024 at Public Service Club, Upperhill, Nairobi from 5.00pm – 7.00pm.
A fundraiser for medical and funeral costs will be held at the same venue on Tuesday 17th September 2024 from 5.00pm.

Dr. Davy Koech was the Director of KEMRI when I and my late son Tobiko had our Tissue and HLA Typing done there in preparation for our Kidney Transplant.l was the donor.We were refered to KEMRI by the late Prof.Abdalla in 1990.
He took special interest in us and all the tests were done and confirmed by Prof. Obel.These are real silent brains we have in this Country.
My son lived with the transplanted kidney for 26.5 years.
I have always had a special place in my heart for these three great men.
