The Odiyo family wishes to announce the promotion to glory of their Matriarch Mama Philgona Fwaga Odiyo of Lusi Village, Masala Sub-location, Asembo Kakia, Rarieda Sub-county.

Wife of the late James Aggrey Odiyo and daughter of the late Ayub Awicho and Dorca Adwek of Nyabera School, West Uyoma.

Mother of Agnes Ogweno (Tanzania), the late Charles Odiyo, Teresa Ouma (Alego), the late Prof. John Ogony Odiyo, Jane Ogweno (Tanzania), Zedekiah Obonyo Odiyo (Siaya County Government), Joan Odie (Gagra Primary School), Dr. Wilson Osito Odiyo (Eastern Produce Regional Services Ltd, Nairobi), Prisca Akoth (Uyoma), George Omolo Odiyo (Cooperative Bank of Kenya Ltd, Kisumu) and Martha Osura (Dagamoyo Primary School). 

Sister of Henry Mita, Omollo, Booker Ongallo, Kepha Lusi and Obilla (all late) of Uyoma Kokwiri, Nyabera School and Louisa Adoyo, Margaret Adhoch, Dorina Otolo, Lorna Apina, Hellen Akong’o, Mikal Adero and Jennifer Arua.

Mother-in-Law of Mary Otieno (Ojawa School), Lilian Ogony (South Africa), Joan Obonyo (Lusi), Olivia Mwachofi (Kinangop Diaries Ltd) and Nancy Oyugi (Nana Fashions, Kisumu.

Sister-in-law of Joseph Walaji, Edward Ochieng, Hesborn Oleche, Dorca Oyaro, Joyce Anyuogo and Sophia Goro (all late) and Jeremiah Okara and Pelesia Ogolla, of  Asembo Kakia, Lusi Village. Grandmother and Great grandmother to many. 

Mama’s remains will be removed from Star Funeral Parlour, Kisumu on Friday 13 th September 2024 at 10.00am.

There will be funeral service at Rakombe Church of Saviour Church on the same day at 4.00pm.

The final funeral service and burial ceremony will be conducted by Church of Saviour Bondo Diocese under Bishop Jecton Ogude on Saturday 14th September, 2024 at her Lusi home, Asembo Kakia, Rarieda Sub-County.
