It’s with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mzee John Cherop of Suwerwa, Cherangany, Trans Nzoia County. 

Son of the late Chepkaitany Sirma and the late Talaa Soti of Kapkoi, Emsoo Ward, Elgeyo Marakwet County. 

Brother of the late Cheruiyot Kwambai (Kapkoi), the late Taprandich Kapakwae (Kapkesum), the late Taptuwei Kapchewit (Kapbesken), Tapkigen Kapchebilil (Kokwao Emsoo Ward) and the late Susana Kapkoiser (Chegilet). 

Husband of the late Mary Cherop. Father of Thomas Sirma, Edwin Cherop, the late Wilfred, Kenneth, Florence Koros, Richard, Jacob, David, Elizabeth Githae and Pamela Sirma.

Father in-law of Nelly, Josphine, the late Silas Koros, Everline and Stephen Githae. Grandfather and great grandfather to many.

There will be fundraising on Sunday 15th September 2024 from 2.00pm at his home in Suwerwa. 

The cortege leaves Moi Teaching and Referral Mortuary on Monday 16th September 2024 for prayers and night vigil.

Burial will take place on Tuesday, 17th September 2024 at his home Suwerwa, Trans Nzoia County.
