MARGARET WAMBUI NYOTA

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing of Margaret Wambui Nyota, which occurred on 21st September 2024 at Luton Hospital, Nairobi, after a short illness. 

She was the beloved wife of Charles Nyottah Chege, cherished mother of Timothy Chege Nyota, loving mother-in-law of Juliet Karungari, and adored grandmother of Jeremy Nyota.

Born on 20 December 1958 in Maji Mazuri, Eldama Ravine, Baringo County, Margaret was the daughter of the late Mr. Stephen Muroki and Mrs. Hannah Wanjiru.

She was the sister of Lucy Wanjiku, the late Mary Njambi, Samuel Mwaniki, the late Eunice Wangari, the late Esther Muthoni, Joyce Wanjiru, Hellen Njeri, Joel Maingi, and Joseph Mburu.

Margaret was a dedicated educator, having taught in various schools across Kenya and retired after over 40 years of service.

She was also a devoted Christian, actively involved in the PCEA Church and a member of the Woman’s Guild. 

Funeral meetings and arrangements are taking place at their home in Lavington, Nairobi, daily from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM until 25th September 2024. 

The funeral service will be held on Friday, 27th September 2024, at Maili Sita, Engacura, Kabatini, Nakuru County, followed by burial at her family’s home.
