SR. MARY MIRIAM ELIZABETH IDEWA

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we the Sisters of Mary of Kakamega do announce the passing on of Sr. Mary Miriam Elizabeth Idewa at 100 years, of Kocholia Sub Location, Kocholia Location, Malaba South Ward, Teso North Sub County, Busia County, Kocholia Catholic Parish Bungoma Catholic Diocese.

She was the daughter of the Late Idewa Ichalai Silanyi of Ikaruok Luk-Ojim and Cecilia Inyait Atyang Nak-Apekiteng.

She was a sister of; Juliana Amusugut Onyapidi, Semeo OnyaIdewa, Peter Omonya Idewa, Lemberito Ichalai, Seferio Enojo, Omusugu Juma Omanyala, Michael Omuse, Lazaro Miriogo, Desterio Almasi Idewa, Cosmas Silanyi and had many sisters among them: Cecilia Adeke, Martha, Iwagata, Scholastic Mategere, Agnes (Anyesi), Nora Idewa, Jonina Ikalianani, Fegenia Atyang, Angela Imoititi and Symphrose Ikuleut. She is survived by several nephews, nieces, and grandchildren from both siblings’ brothers and sisters.

Among them: families of Mrs. Papa, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Omukule, Mrs. Mudinyu, Coronoso Idewa, Aquinata Murunga, Martin Idewa, Spencer Idewa, Francisca, Sarah, Lydia, Catherine, Arnold. Family leaders include, Robert Idewa – (Chair- Ekek K’ Idewa), Benard Idewa, Kennedy Obwo, Papa Benjamin Okurut, Spencer Ichalai.

The cortege leaves Mukumu Mortuary on 26 th September 2024 to SMK Mukumu Chapel at 3.00 P.M for a Requiem Mass at 4:00 PM thereafter Vigil Masses at the same SMK Chapel.

The burial will be held on 27th September 2024 at SMK Mukumu Cemetery.
