AUSTIN ODUOR ORIGI “MAKAMU”

Born: 21st July, 1959 ~ Died: 15th October, 2024

The Origi family together with the National Steering Committee cordially invites you to join us in celebrating the life of Austin Oduor Origi “Makamu”.

Austin was the Gor Mahia 1987 Arica Cup Winners Cup Award-Winning Captain.

He also captained the Kenya National Soccer Team Harambee Stars.

Austin Oduor went to be with the Lord suddenly on Tuesday 15th October, 2024 after developing breathing difficulties and was rushed to hospital but unfortunately succumbed.

The late Austin Oduor was born on 21 st July 1959, in Nairobi, Kenya, to the late Johaness Origi Onyango & the late mama Leonida Apondi Origi.

He is the beloved husband of Pamela Aoko Oduor, loving father of Judy Oduor, Arnold Origi Oduor, Pauline Oduor, Brenda Oduor, George Oduor & Kimberly Oduor. Beloved brother of Gaudencia Ogutu, Mathilda Anyango, the late Sylvester Origi, Consolata Were, the late Pamela Masawa, the late Vincent Origi, Anthony Origi, Mike Okoth Origi, Florence Origi & Jared Origi. Uncle of

Peter, Josephine, Divock Origi, Collins, Charles, Makeba, Maurine, Johaness, Ann, Antonia, Prince, Nark, Alain, Deenen, Natasha, Dalton, Stacey & Caitlyn. Father-in-law of Moris Ouma and Brother in-law of Cosmas Were, Eugenea Onyango, Linda Okoth, Victoria Otieno.

Grandfather to Rose, Mike, Aiden, Hannah & Blessing.

There shall be a fundraiser on Tuesday 5th November, 2024 at 680 Hotel in Nairobi from 5:00pm.

The Guest of Honor shall be Hon. Julius Mawathe, MP Embakasi South Constituency, assisted by co-guests; H. E. Governor Fernandez Baraza of Kakamega County; as well as the steering committee Members Mr. Ambrose Rachier – Chairman Gor Mahia FC; Mr. Dan Shikhanda – Chairman AFC Leopards FC; Mr. Jared Nevton – Chairman Shabana FC; Mr. Cleopa Simanyula, Chairman Kakamega Homeboys FC and Advocate Nicholas Odera Sumba.

Principal guests will be FKF Presidential Candidates Sammy Owino “Kempes”; Hussein Mohamed; Dorris Petra; and Barry Otieno.

The requiem mass is scheduled for Friday, 8th November 2024 at St.Theresa Catholic Church, Kibuye, Kisumu from 10:00am and thereafter public viewing at the church premises up to 1:00pm.

The body shall then be moved to his home in Makunga, Kakamega for viewing and overnight vigil.

Burial is scheduled for Saturday 9th November 2024 at his home in Makunga, Kakamega County.
