PROTUS MUYA ONYANGO

1966 – 2024

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden death of Protus Muya Onyango of Kenya Revenue Authority, Nairobi, which occurred on 16th November 2024 in Nairobi.

He was a beloved son of the late Mzee Nicholas Onyango Onyala and Mama Salome Onyango Onyala of Khulwanda Village – Matungu Sub-County, Kakamega County.

Brother of Crusifix Lutta, Basiliano Oduori Kusiaku, Hellen Otswoli, Pantaleon Onyango and Joseph Onyango.

He was husband of Matilda Shisia Okhotso and Margaret Oyando. Father of Joan Muya (Assistant Finance Manager-Watu Africa), Brenda Muya (Finance Office – FAWE K), Daisy Muya (Advocate of the High Court), Dr. Nicholas Muya (Medical Intern – Kijana Wamalwa Teaching & Refferal Hospital), Anastancia Muya (Strathmore University) & Josephine Muya.

He cherished his grandchildren, Leeray Odhiambo, Leona Odhiambo, Sanora Nyambura, Florentine Awino, Paloma Auma, Ahana Mukhwana and a dear father in-law of Kennedy Karoki and Anthony Kiplimo.

He was also an adored brother-in-law, cousin, uncle and friend to many. A devoted christian of the catholic faith,he led his family in serving God and touched countless lives with his kindness and generousity.

Family, relatives, and friends are meeting daily at his home in Ngumo – Newa Estate for prayers and funeral arrangements.

There will be a requiem mass at Holy Family Basilica on Tuesday 26th November 2024 at 2 pm. A fundraising will be held at Holy Basilica, on Saturday 23rd of November 2024 at 2pm.

The cortege leaves Montezuma Funeral Home on Wednesday 27th November 2024, for his Khulwanda home for overnight vigil.

Protus will be laid to rest at his home in Khulwanda Village, Kholera; Matungu Sub County – Kakamega County on Friday, 29th November 2024.
