ROSELINE ADHIAMBO ODEDE

1967-2025

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of the Chairperson of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights (KNCHR), Roseline Adhiambo Odede, following a short illness, bravely borne.

Beloved wife of Dr. Joram (Jorry) Odede, and cherished mother of Clara Odede and Dianne Odede.

Dear daughter of the late Eng. Apollo Odhiambo Augo and the late Grace Nelly Odhiambo.

Loving sister of the late Rtd. Col. Sam Odhiambo, Leah Krogsund, the late Ruth Wandia, the late Joe Odhiambo, the late Peter Odhiambo, Winnie Odhiambo, and Ben Monye.

She was a dear daughter-in-law of the late Hon F.W. Odede and the late Mama Risper Ayieko Odede and sister-in-law of the late Ambassador Pamela Mboya, Alice Magolo, Janet Owuor, Margaret Adongo, Samburu Odede, Monica Odede, the late Dr. Lumumba Odede, the late Yucabeth Odede and Susan Odede, and of Alice Odhiambo, Pamela Odhiambo, and Lily Odhiambo, who all held her in high regard.

Roseline was a loving niece of the late Phoebe Oluoch, the late Benta Yewa, Margaret Aboka, and Professor Dan Kaseje.

A Memorial Service will be held at All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi on 16th January 2025 at 2:00 pm.

The Cortege will depart Nairobi for Kisumu on Friday 17th January, 2025 in the morning and a memorial service will be held at St Stephens Church in Kisumu at 11:00 am on the same day.

Thereafter, the Cortege will depart for the family home in Ruma Village, Uyoma Katweng’a, for an overnight vigil at the homestead.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on 18th January 2025 at Ruma Primary School, Uyoma Katweng’a and thereafter, Roseline will be laid to rest in a private burial at her family home in Uyoma.

Friends are meeting to make arrangements and condole with the family at the home in Runda.
