It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Rtd Lt. Col Dr. Stephen Mwatha Macharia formerly of Kenya Navy, on 10th January 2025 at The Nairobi West Hospital, Nairobi. 

Loving husband of Christine Mwikali Mwatha. 

Doting father of Tansy Mukiri, Tracy Muthoni, Trizah Gathoni, and Nicholas Ngundo.

Beloved grandfather of Roman Baraka Mugonya.

Son of the late Nicholas Macharia (Ngundo) and the late Elizabeth Nyambura of Karibi Village, Munyange Location, Othaya Sub County, Nyeri County.

Son-In Law of the late Morris Mule and the late Monica Nzilani Mule. 

Loved and dearly missed first born brother of Charity Wanjiru and Wilson Muteru, the late Samuel Githige and the late Agnes Wangechi, Esther Wamata, Lucy Wambui, James Minjire and the late Irene Minjire, Moses Gichane and Shelmith Karungari, and Hellen Njeri and Daniel Njoroge.

Brother-in-law of Jones Kathembe and the late Florence Mutiso, the late Julius Wambua, the late Sammy Mwanza, James Kilonzo and Damaris Kilonzo, Zipporah Mwikali and the late Joseph Musyoka. Uncle, Cousin, Friend and Colleague to many.

Family and friends are meeting daily at Ministry of Works (M.O.W) Sports Club, South C, at 5.30 p.m.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Funeral Home, Kabati (Thika Superhighway) on Friday, 17th January, 2025 at 7.00 a.m.

The Funeral Service will be held thereafter at PCEA Munyange Church at 10.00 a.m, followed by burial at Karibi Village.
