Death has occurred of Mwalimu Joseph Thomas Ogato Motari on 11th January 2025 at Nairobi West Hospital. 

Son of the late Jeremiah Motari and the late Annah Moraa of Bosamaro Ward, Nyamira County.

Husband of Leonida Nyakondo Ogato Father of Margaret – Rachel, Dr. Beatrice Monyenche, Robert Otero, Edward Motari, Tito Motari and David Motari

Father-in-law of Joel Omweno, Dr. Kennedy Ongwae, Linet Arasa, Evelyne Murebwayire, Peninah Oigara and Ednah Ngare.

Brother of the late Okindo, the late Nyamache, the late Mosembe, the late Nyariki, the late Obonyo, the late Ongweso, the late Nyarega, the late Omwega, Ondomu Motari, Samwel Nyamota, Agnes Monyenche and Nyanchama Matunda. 

Cousin of Lawrence Ogato and William Ondere.

Uncle of Bundi, Peris, Mayaka, Nyachieng’a, Nyareso, Emjomo, Nyanchoka, Mong’are, Alice, Omiti, Nyamoita, Nyabuti, Richard, Martha, Joel, Kebaso, Bosibori, Gladys, Motari, Monyenche, Mochoge, Charles Angwenyi, Morara Matunda, Zephaniah among others.

Grandfather of Nickson, Nyatichi, the late Ombasa, Nyamoita, Moraa Ondari, Okindo Aondo, Rianne, Emmanuel, Joseph, Ethan, Peace and Roseline.

The body is currently at Montezuma Funeral Home, family and friends are meeting daily at Ongata Rongai, Off Maasai Lodge Road for funeral arrangements.

The cortège leaves Montezuma Funeral home on Thursday 23rd January 2025 at 7.00am for his home in Nyamira County.

Funeral service and burial will be on 24th January 2025 at his home in Nyachogochogo village, Bosamaro Ward, Nyamira County.
