MARY GAKENIA KAIGANAINE NÈE GIKUHI
It is with extreme sadness and humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Mary Gakenia Kaiganaine Nèe Gikuhi of Chieni Village,Mathira, Nyeri County, which occurred on 17th January 2025.
She was the beloved daughter of the late Margaret Mumbi Gacùgu and the late Gikuhi Kogi of Mathaithi Village, Karatina.
She was a supportive and loving wife of the late Mwalimu Peter Kaiganaine Kariuki.
A devoted mother of Mark and the Late Susan Kariuki (Naivasha), Timothy Gikuhi, Rtd Col. John and Edith Gachanga, Joshua and Ann Kogi, Mercy and Wanyiri Theuri (Hiriga), the late James and late Eunice Mwihia, Dr Mumbi Margaret (Kenya Power) and the late Zablon Campbell, Ruth and Kinyua Gachoki (Durban, SA), and Rose and Sylvester Olupot (Durban, SA).
She was also a beloved grandmother to 22 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Family and friends are meeting for prayers and tributes on Tuesday, 21st and Wednesday, 22 nd January, 2025 at PCEA St. Andrews Nairobi from 5:30 pm and at the family home in Chieni daily from 4.00pm.
A Mass shall be held at Regina Caeli Catholic Church, Karen on Tuesday 21st January 2025 from 3-4 pm and a Memorial Service on Wednesday 22nd January 2025 from 3.00 pm at PCEA St Andrews Church, Nairobi.
The Cortège leaves Jamii Hospital Mortuary, Karatina on Friday 24th January 2025 at 8:30AM.
Viewing begins at 8:00AM. The funeral service will be held at the family home in Chieni from 10:30AM.
