ENG. ERNEST MUTUURA GATAI

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we announce the passing on of Eng. Ernest Mutuura Gatai, (Managing Director WETS Services Ltd) of Westlands – Nairobi, that occurred on 14th January, 2025, at Fortis Hospital, Bangalore, India.

He was son of the late Gatai Kimani and Nancy Wangeci Gatai of Kianderi Village, Kahuti Sub-Location, Weithaga Location, Murang’a County. He was a loving husband of Lilian Wangari Mutuura and Dotting Dad of Ian Gatai of Technical University of Kenya. Brother of Eng. Kimani Gatai (Norkun intakes Ltd), Arch. Henry Mwangi Gatai (Gem Archplans), Eng. Wambui Gatai (Escarpment Ltd), Pauline Muthoni Gatai (Seattle USA), and Late Lucy Nyambura Gatai.

Son in law of late Evan Maina Thiongo and Rose Wanjiru Maina.

Brother in law of Eng. Samuel Mwaura, Alice Kimani, Felista Mwangi, Late Kenneth Thiongo, Late Anthony Kiarie, Eric Waithaka, and Rachel Muthoni. He was an uncle of Victoria & Kakaire, Larry, Mungai, Joy, Njoki, Gatai Mwaura, Chantel, Prudence, Victor, Nyambura, Neil, Ndihuri, Warren, Tiffany, Samuel, Gerald and Sheila.

Family and friends are meeting at All Saint Cathedral, for prayers and funeral arrangements, at 5:30 pm daily from Monday 20th January to Thursday 23rd January 2025.

The cortege will leave Montezuma Monalisa Funeral Home, Thika Road (Kabati) at 8.00 am on Saturday 25th January 2025 for a funeral service at Kianderi primary school, Kahuti Sub-Location, Murang’a County, starting at 11.am. Burial will follow thereafter at their Kianderi farm.
