MARYANGELA WANGUI NJOKA

With profound sorrow and humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing away of MaryAngela Wangui Njoka, on 15th January 2025 at Mater Misericordiae Hospital, Nairobi.

Born in 1945 in Mweiga, Nyeri, she was the treasured firstborn daughter of the late Samuel Njoka Gichuki and the late Jerioth Gathoni Njoka.

MaryAngela was a dear sister of the late George Gichuki Njoka, Margaret Wanjiru Njoka, Jane Wacheke Mwangi, Charles Wachira Njoka, Grace Wanjiku Njoka, Elizabeth Wambui Njoka, the late Rose Wageci Njoka, David Maina Njoka, and the late Alice Mumbi Karanja.

Sister of Rebecca Wacheke Njoka, the late Isaac Maina Njoka, Charles Wachira Njoka, Reuben Gichara Njoka, Simon Ndugu Njoka, Moses Muraya Njoka, John Gichuki Njoka, Gerald Wachira Njoka, and Robert Maingi Njoka.

She was a cherished aunt and grandmother to many.

A woman of deep faith, MaryAngela devoted her life to God and served as a cateress, making notable contributions to Kianda Foundation projects. Her exceptional creativity in decorative sewing was evident in the exquisite items she prepared for the celebration of Holy Mass.

The cortege will leave Lee Funeral Home at 4.00 pm on Thursday 23rd January 2025 for a Requiem Mass at 6.00 pm, followed by an overnight vigil at Kianda School Chapel, Nairobi.

The funeral Mass will be held on Friday 24th January 2025 at 10.00 am at the same chapel, followed by burial at Lang’ata Cemetery.
