RT. REV. LINUS OKOK OKWACH, BISHOP EMERITUS OF THE DIOCESE OF HOMABAY

SUNRISE:20th Oct. 1952 – SUNSET:12th Sept. 2020

It is with humble acceptance of God’s will that we — the Catholic Diocese of Homa Bay and the Archdiocese of Kisumu in conjunction with the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops, (KCCB), announce the death of Bishop Emeritus of Homa Bay, Rt Rev. Linus Okok Okwach, which occurred on 12th September, 2020, at St. Monica Hospital Kisumu.

He was the first-born son of the late Mzee Martin Okwach and the late Mama Wiffida Otieno from Ojolla Parish, Kisumu Archdiocese.

The cortege leaves St. Monica Mission Hospital mortuary for viewing at his home parish – Ojolla on 20th September, 2020, at LOO pm.

There will be a Requiem Mass on 21st September, 2020, at Uzima University grounds 10.00 am after which the cortege will leave for Homa Bay for Vigil Mass at 5pm.

There will be a Funeral Mass on 22nd September, 2020, at 10.00 am at the Homa Bay High School Grounds. The late Bishop will be buried at St Paul’s Cathedral Homa Bay thereafter.

May the Merciful Lord reward him with unfading Peace and love In His Eternal Kingdom.
