AMB. MAJ. GEN. (RTD) AYUB GUANTAI MATIIRI

We are deeply saddened to announce the promotion to glory of Amb Maj Gen (Rtd) Ayub Guantai Matiiri who rested on Saturday, 25th March 2023.

He was the beloved husband to Ruth Karamana Matiiri. Father to Moses Mutuma, Grace Umra, Linda Makandi, Morris Kimathi and Mathews Mutethia Matiiri. He was an adoring grandfather to Javed Mugwee, Avery Weru and Bellamy-Rose Akenia.

Son to the late Ibrahim Matiiri and the late Ruth Matiiri.

Son-in-law to Bishop Rev Dr Lawi lmathiu and Florence lmathiu.

Brother to Annah Gacheri, the late Japhet Ngaku, Caroline Igoki, Philip Mputhia, the late Rebecca Mwari, Geofrey Nkonge, Joseph Mutai, Janet Gacheri and Mary Mbuthu.

Brother-in-law to Grace and Jones (US), the late Paul and Rahab, Rehema and Kithinji Kendi and Tim (Texas). He was a cousin, uncle, friend and mentor to many.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, 4th April 2023 from 1000hrs at All Saints Cathedral, Nairobi.

Burial will be held on Thursday, 6th April 2023 at Thiiri Centre at Kithoka, Meru County. Thereafter, internment will be at his home in Kithoka.
