ANDREW MWALIM OPIYO

It is with a humble heart that we announce the sudden death of Andrew Mwalim Opiyo, which occurred on 9th June, 2024, at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.

Andrew was the beloved husband of Linet Mutongi and father of Ruby Maalim (Athi River) and Lewis Maalim and Caren Rose Maalim (USA).

He was the son of the late Yunia Opiyo and Mzee Daniel Opiyo and a brother of Jack Opiyo and Sam Opiyo among others.

As a brother-in-law to the Mutongi family, he was a cherished addition to their family.

Andrew will rest in Gem, Yala, Siaya County on 29th June, 2024.

Revelation 21:4 says, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more; neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”
