CAROLINE AKINYI OBINJU MCINTYRE (DADA)

It is with deep sorrow and humble acceptance of Gods will that we announce the passing on to glory of Mrs Akinyi Obinju McIntyre (Dada Nyahero), on the 4th January, 2023 in the commonwealth of Dominica.

Loving wife to Dr Irving Francis McIntyre.

Daughter to the late Charles Bengo Obinju and Christine Awuor Obinju. Sister to Steve Obinju, Brenda Obinju Albinet, Ben Obinju and Donald Obinju.

Loving mother to Omondi Obinju McIntyre, Apindi Nobert McIntyre and Muthoni McIntyre.

Sister-in-law to Rose Wachuka Obinju, Lilian Muthoni Obinju, Winnie Mghoi Obinju and the late Jerome Albinet of France.

Niece to Godwin Ojowi Bengo, Walter Ogallo, the late Gideon Ogutu, Peter Akombo, Barnabas, Opuko and others.

Aunty to Tracy, Tiffany, Gabriel, Anaya, Ethan, Levi, Maya, Mila, lmorah.

Granddaughter to the late Mzee Banjamin Opuko and Mama Julia Akumu, the late Mwalimu Reuben Boaz Oyamo and Mama Helen Amondi Oyamo. Great-granddaughter to the late Rev. Canon Ezekiel Apindi.

Niece to the late Jerry Kiwinda and Mary Kiwinda, William and Nelly Oyamo (UK), Boaz Odhiambo and Hon Grace Odhiambo, Mary and the late Phares Kouko, Maurice and Grace Babu, Dan Omondi Oyamo.

Cousin to Maureen Babu Kahangirwe, Sarah and Charles Babu, Kathy, Wilson and Charles Kouko, Victor, Hellen and Charles Odhiambo, Brenda Oyamo, Boaz, Hellen, Sarah, Isabella and Charles Kiwinda. Paternal cousins to John Bengo, Mary Akinyi, Bob Ojowi, Lilly Aduol, Lillian Ogutu Nyambu, Prof Gordon Wayumba, Jared Alila, Rose Akombo, Robert Nyangweso, the late Prof Elly Bodo, Betty Akinyi, James Ngala, Nancy Okita and others.

A fundraiser event to assist the family will be held at the All Saints Cathedral Church on Thursday 12th January from 5.00pm to 8.00pm. Contributions can be sent through Pay-bill number 8050649 – Akinyi McIntyre Memorial Fund.

A memorial service will be held at the All Saints Cathedral Church, Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi on the 13th January, 2023 from 12.00Noon. Funeral service will take place on Friday, 20th January, 2023 in the Commonwealth of Dominica, West Indies followed by a private interment at her home in Moneprosper, Commonwealth of Dominica.
